Welcome to my collection of realistic mushroom illustrations, featuring fascinating mushroom species traditionally drawn and painted in pencil and watercolour.
I have always been fascinated by the incredible shapes, textures and colours found in the natural world. Mushrooms are especially inspiring: from delicate Chanterelles to the unmistakable Fly Agaric, every species has its own character.
This collection combines my love of botanical art, traditional drawing and the fascinating world of fungi.
Every illustration was created by hand using traditional artistic techniques.
Traditional Mushroom Art
For this collection I chose to work with traditional pencil drawing and watercolour painting, focusing on the natural forms, textures and details of each mushroom.
The illustrations can be viewed individually, or as part of the complete mushroom collection.
I love the quiet process of observing a natural subject and translating its character onto paper. These works are a little different from my more fantastical Mushroom Folk characters, but they come from the same fascination with the strange and beautiful world of fungi.
